AC Joint Separation
An AC joint separation is when the tissues that hod the collarbone to the shoulder blade get pulled or tear.
It can happen when there's a strong force or impact on the shoulder area, such as during a fall or collision.
The separated bones cause pain, swelling, and sometimes a visible bump or deformity near the shoulder.
Treatment usually involves rest and sometimes physical therapy, but in severe cases surgery may be necessary.
