Tennis Elbow

Tennis Elbow, otherwise known as lateral epicondylitis,  is a condition that causes pain and tenderness on the outside of the elbow.

It's called tennis elbow because it's a common injury among tennis players, but it can happen to anyone who repeatedly uses their forearm muscles, such as painters, plumbers, and carpenters.

Pain is felt on the outside of the elbow and forearm. Symptoms can come on slowly and range from mild to severe. Occasionally, injury can cause immediate pain in this area. Most people notice the pain when pouring a drink or holding a coffee cup. Symptoms may last over a year.

Treatment does take time but doing the right stuff will get you back to your daily activities quicker. Those that go untreated usually get better on their own but pain may last a very long time. Specific exercises, wearing a counterforce brace, and taking anti-inflammatory medications may alleviate symptoms.
